Pharmacology is the study of how drugs work, the effects they have and the problems they can cause.

Pharmacy is concerned with people and medicines.  It spans drug discovery, development, formulation and clinical practice, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines.

Understanding how drugs work is important for the development of new and safe therapies for disease and for our understanding of how the body works.

Our Unit teaches pharmacology in many UWA courses and programs including Science, Health Science, Biomedical Science, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Podiatry.
